Patricia Bohlmann-Schmidt, Board Member

Patricia is a fellow PMD mother and is located in Germany. Patricia is very engaged and ambitious and similar to me, eager to create more awareness for rare diseases and help other families with PMD.

With her experience and knowledge, I think she would make a perfect candidate for the PMD Foundation and the PMD Awareness Committee.

As we also want to globalize the PMD Foundation more to ensure that we reach as many PMD patients as possible around the world, I think another board member in Europe would be very beneficial.

Patricia and her husband live in Germany and their 4-year-old Bela, suffers from PMD.

After a voluntary social year, she successfully completed an apprenticeship as a registered nurse. After 6 years in the healthcare sector, she chose another apprenticeship in insurance and finance. Later on, she changed industries and started in marketing and web design.

After several years of professional experience in marketing and PR agencies, Patricia joined Kimberly-Clark in 2014 and successfully implemented her expertise in the healthcare and hygiene sector in various sales and marketing positions.

In 2021, she decided to have more time for her son Bela. That's why she now works as a Business Development Manager at a software development from the home office. Her strengths are in the areas of networking, teamwork, partner support, and interfacing between customers and software developers.

She is also involved with ELA Germany and supports the Center for Rare Diseases in Bonn and several other organizations with her in-depth knowledge. Patricia would like to help make rare diseases visible and thus give people a better chance of finding possible therapies.
