Judy Beamer, Board Member

Judy lives in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania with her husband, Rick, and grandson, Brayden. Brayden turned 8 years old in July 2022 and was diagnosed with PMD when he was one year old. He is the first generation to be diagnosed in their family.

Judy spent her career of 30 years running her family’s interior design furniture business. She retired in 2015, allowing her to be a full-time caregiver, along with full time advocate, for Brayden.

Since Brayden’s diagnosis, Judy has spent her time researching PMD, seeking out treatment and therapy options, connecting with other PMD families and fundraising for PMD research and support. In 2021, Judy helped organize a Virtual Run, Walk & Roll for PMD in honor of Brayden’s 7th birthday. Together with families across the globe, the event raised over $10,000 for various PMD support groups, including the PMD Foundation. Last year, Team Brayden joined the PMD Foundation for their annual Run, Walk & Roll for PMD/PMLD in September. Team Brayden is looking forward to being part of this event for years to come.

Judy is passionate about raising awareness for PMD, fundraising for treatments, and providing support for families who are sharing a similar journey to Brayden’s.”
